Option B — compact visible chip + machine metadata (RECOMMENDED)
Replace the multi-line prose footer with a small, always-present chip ("✦ AI-curated · not externally peer-reviewed") that links to /wiki/ai-disclosure; keep the machine metadata. Achieves the reading-cleanliness goal while preservingthe "visible on every artefact" commitment in minimal form. This is the editorial recommendation.
DECISION — Option A (machine-only) adopted by founder decision on 2026-07-06.
Adopted ahead of the 2026-07-29 comment-window close and against the editorial-board recommendation (Option B, a compact visible chip). This is recorded plainly, not framed as a cleanup: the per-article §7.9/§7.10 prose-provenance is now disclosed machine-readably(the
data-prose-provenanceattribute) + on /wiki/ai-disclosure, replacing the visible per-tier chip — a genuine reduction in the prominence of the disclosure. The §7.11/§7.12 catalog-authorship footer disclosure (a separate safeguard under §7.12(d)) is unchanged. This decision record is retained at this URL permanently.
